TETHERS AVAILABLE NOWBioLink offers a family of tethers in which poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is used to link an affinity ligand (e.g., biotin, NTA, FLAG, polyhistidines, or a MAb) to a reporter moiety. Like many others, we recognize that affinity biosensors incorporating self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) stand out from most others in term of flexibility, ease of manufacture and ease of use. Investigators such as Whitesides, Corn, Mrksich and Mirkin have shown that biosensors incorporating SAMs have the specificity and sensitivity to detect a wide variety of targets in nanomolar or lower concentrations or to distinguish among a variety of cell types. TETHERS AVAILABLE NOWBioLinks™, our proprietary tethers, are now available. These uniquely useful combinations of lipoic acid (to bind to the metal) or an alkoxysilane and PEG (to prevent nonspecific adsorption) will let you easily convert a pioneer chip, gold nanocrystal, or glass surface into a working biosensor. |
